This is my cure to Random Obsessions.

Of course, chocolate itself could be an obsession, but that’s a post for another day.

It is a special little cookie of love and comfort that I first wrote about here  http://wuzza.flansite.com/2009/01/andres-part-i-the-chocolates/

My hubby brought home 2 boxes of them this Saturday.  (One box only contains 6 cookies. That wouldn’t go over very well at our house.)

Then I found this on the hall bath light-switch plate.

I had two immediate thoughts, at the same time, of course, because that is the way a womans mind works, remember?

1.  I am so glad that is chocolate and NOT poo.

2.  At least he was trying to wash his hands before he spread chocolate love every where else.

I wish I could give a box of those therapeutic cookies to all of you.

Love,

Wuzza

Andre’s is a local swiss confiserie that serves a fantastic lunch.  It is my absolute favorite place to go for a payday Friday lunch date with my hubby. The original Andre, Andre Bollier, immigrated from Switzerland to Kansas City in 1955. You can find his story here http://www.andreschocolates.com/story.php

img_1383We came toward the end of the lunch rush, thank goodness. Otherwise, you can’t get a parking space, and you have to wait for your table about 20 minutes.

That’s my camera man hubby and my two youngest.

img_1314I love the giant ornaments. I wonder if I could do that in my foyer…

Ahh, the chocolates. That is what they are famous for. And they should be. They also have fabulous pastries which are served as dessert and included in the lunch price.

But the absolute best dessert, best item, best anything they have is this:

We almost always get a box to take home to the kids. They are locally known as the heart cookies. People come in and say,  ”Do you have any of those….uh….uhm….heart cookies?” And the folks at Andre’s know exactly what they want. What they are is some kind of flour based cookie dough (I think) greatly enhanced with crushed pecans and maybe a bit of toffee? I am not sure about the toffee part, but they do have a buttery-ness to them. Then, all that love is dipped in either milk chocolate or dark chocolate and the white swirl is added, free-hand, to each individual cookie. MMmmmm, mm. Dang, those things are good.

I wonder how many of you are now looking for some leftover Christmas goody to eat. I’m going to break in to my hubby’s Nutty Bar stash…

I wonder if Little Debbie had Swiss ancestors…

More Tomorrow,

Wuz

P.S. I am not affiliated with Andre’s in any way. Neither is anyone I know.  But I wish I knew those people. Well enough to be invited to their houses for dinner parties. And dessert parties.
