We came toward the end of the lunch rush, thank goodness. Otherwise, you can’t get a parking space, and you have to wait for your table about 20 minutes.

That’s my camera man hubby and my two youngest.

I love the giant ornaments. I wonder if I could do that in my foyer…

Ahh, the chocolates. That is what they are famous for. And they should be. They also have fabulous pastries which are served as dessert and included in the lunch price.

But the absolute best dessert, best item, best anything they have is this:

We almost always get a box to take home to the kids. They are locally known as the heart cookies. People come in and say,  ”Do you have any of those….uh….uhm….heart cookies?” And the folks at Andre’s know exactly what they want. What they are is some kind of flour based cookie dough (I think) greatly enhanced with crushed pecans and maybe a bit of toffee? I am not sure about the toffee part, but they do have a buttery-ness to them. Then, all that love is dipped in either milk chocolate or dark chocolate and the white swirl is added, free-hand, to each individual cookie. MMmmmm, mm. Dang, those things are good.

I wonder how many of you are now looking for some leftover Christmas goody to eat. I’m going to break in to my hubby’s Nutty Bar stash…

I wonder if Little Debbie had Swiss ancestors…
