Hi there. I’m Karen. I’m a, wife, mom, registered nurse, hippie -chow advocate, gardener, voracious reader, and incurable daydreamer. I currently live in the midwest with my hubby, 7 sons, and various pets. I grew up in southern Virginia on the coast surrounded by water, fresh seafood, and history. I love the water and living land-locked has been a big adjustment. But the people of the midwest make-up for the lack of an ocean with incredible friendliness. We absolutely love it here, though we miss our families terribly.

This past fall, my sister e-mailed me a link to thepioneerwoman.com and I was instantly smitten. I had just gotten a new laptop on which I had recently put our family photos. I began to see how blogging, particularly with photos, could be a great way for our families to peak into our everyday lives. When hubby and I bought ourselves a digital SLR camera for Christmas (and anniversary, and birthdays, and valentine’s day, and earth day, and…), I knew I had to give it a shot.

This blog is born out of that desire to be able to share our lives with our families and friends who don’t live nearby. That and for me to have fun with my new camera and laptop. Hope you all enjoy it!

Oh! the whole “Wuzza” thing…..Well, that was a nickname hubby started calling me before we were married- almost 20 years ago. I don’t know where he got it, but it has stuck. I have used the name for every mmorpg I have played, so many friends and family have come to know me by that name as well. Therefore, it just seemed natural for me to use it for the blog.
