Andre’s Part II-Lunch
Jan 25th, 2009 by wuzza

Andre’s uses fresh foods, not frozen stuff shipped in. They typically do 4 dishes each day with Quiche Lorraine and Cheese Pie being regulars. The other 2 dishes change day to day. All the food is typically made from scratch right there in the kitchen. Except for those gorgeous rolls which are sent from the main store in downtown Kansas City where they have the fancy professional bread oven. I know this becuase I have personally called the chef out to our table and played 20 questions with him over how to make those rolls. I haven’t quite got it down yet.

And the sauces……If there were a “King of the Bechemel” this guy would win. Whenever we try a different dish, my hubby and I try to figure out what he put in the sauce. Some times, if it’s the end of the lunch rush and he’s not busy, we call him out to play 20 questions about the sauce. (Hmm, I wonder what goes through their heads when we come through the door).

Hubby and I both had the Quiche Lorraine. While the boys tried the lasagna. Now the embarrassing part is that I forgot to get pictures of the food before we started to eat. So you are stuck with pictures of half eaten food. Not really appetizing I know, but I live and learn, won’t happen again.

We had babies #6 and #7 with us this time because they had had doctor’s appointments earlier that day and we promised them a hot chocolate.

I love their desserts because the portion size is just right. That, and they are delicious.

What can I say after all that? Only this, If you live in the Kansas City area, treat yourself to lunch at Andre’s sometime.
Happy Eats!
